It may feel warm, but fall has officially arrived. Here is what’s happening in Keller for October!

 

Friday, October 6

-Barbeque Cook Off, 532 Keller Pkwy.

7:00pm

Every fall the Keller Lions Club hosts an International Barbeque Cookers Association sanctioned cook-off competition. Teams from all over Texas will be competing for the title of Grand Champion. Join us Friday night at the Calcutta Auction where the best BBQ teams go to the highest bidder. Saturday, categories will be judged and winner crowned. For registration information, click here.

 

Saturday, October 7

-Keller Farmers Market, Bear Creek Parkway in front of Town Hall

8:00am-12:00pm

Every Saturday from May-October, local farmers, artisans, and bakers gather to sell fresh produce, homemade tamales, salsa, jams, breads, cheeses, meats, and even crafts and pet products. Come stroll the vendors while listening to live music. The market is open rain or shine and parking is available at Tom Thumb and at the Town Square on the opposite side of the shops.

 

-Every Step for Autism 5K, 1000 Bear Creek Parkway
3:30pm
5K and Fun Walk benefiting Families for Effective Autism Treatment North Texas. Volunteers from Keller ISD AVID groups will be on site to make this event fun for all families. We will have bounce houses, crafts, face painting, food, prizes, and more!

 

Tuesday, October 10

-Costume Kickball, Keller Public Library

4:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Wear a costume and meet us on the field! Teens and tweens welcome.

 

Wednesday, October 11

-Well Read Book Club, Keller Public Library

6:30-7:30pm

Discussing books from all genres, adults can come every second Wednesday. October’s book is Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.

 

Thursday, October 12

-Keller Garden Club, 660 Johnson Road

Friday, October 13

-Harvest Stew Festival, Keller Public Library

6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Keller’s 29th annual Harvest Stew Festival will feature games, s’mores, an inflatable slide, food trucks, and more! Admission is free but canned goods to be donated to the Community Storehouse are welcomed.

 

Saturday, October 14

-Fall Craft Fair & Market, Keller Senior Activities Center

7 a.m.-1 p.m.

Come and get started on your holiday shopping! We will have handmade items, jewelry, original artwork, and much more.

-Golf to End Alzheimer’s, Sky Creek Ranch Club, Keller

1:30 p.m-7:30 p.m.

Bring your clubs and support a good cause. Help support Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. There will be a 1:30 p.m shotgun start and sponsorships available ranging from $300 to $5,000. -Keller Art Walk, Old Town Keller West

3 p.m.-8 p.m.
The Public Arts Board and the Keller Public Arts Society have partnered to host the first annual Keller Art Walk. This family-friendly festival will celebrate the arts at the new Old Town Keller West.

 

Sunday, October 15

-FnG Eats 5th Annual Burgers, Brews, and Beats, 201 Town Center

1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

5th annual block party with food and drinks. Proceeds benefiting Young DFW Writers. Admission is $20.

 

Thursday, October 19

-Wine and Jazz at The Bowden, 1745 Keller Pkwy

6:30 p.m-10:30 p.m.

Come and enjoy great food from area restaurants and listen to jazz by The Keller Area Jazz Combo. Tickets are $20 and are available at the Chamber office.

 

-Librewery Trivia: Halloween Edition, Keller Public Library

6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Our night of friendly competition will have a Halloween theme! Seasonal beers will be provided by Shannon Brewery and teams of 1-6 are welcome to participate. For adults 21+ only.

12:00 p.m.-Sunday 10 a.m.

The whole family is invited to come and enjoy the outdoors. Bring your tents and sleeping bags and get ready to hear some spooky stories under the stars. Dinner and breakfast will be provided and cost is $5 per person. Register for the event here.

-Trunk or Treat, Legacy at Bear Creek

5:30 p.m -6:30 p.m

All ghouls and goblins are invited to trick or treat. There will be a costume contest as well as prizes for most creative booth.
